Welcome to the ukTherapy Directory for Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy involves the induction of a trance-like condition which, when in it,
the patient is in an enhanced state of awareness.
In this state s/he can concentrate entirely on the hypnotist's voice. From there the conscious mind is quietened and the subconscious mind comes to the forefront.
This enables the therapist to suggest ideas, concepts and lifestyle adaptations to the patient. In this stae these seeds become firmly planted.
Used in this manner hypnotherapy is a kind of psychotherapy. Hypnotherapy can be used to re-programme the mind in relation to irrational fears, phobias, negative thoughts and suppressed emotions that it would be beneficial to overcome.
