Art Therapy
Art therapy is based on the belief that the creative process involved in the proccess of art is healing and life-enhancing. Through creating art and talking about art and interacting with the art therapist, one can increase awareness of self, cope with symptoms of stress, exorcise traumatic experiences, enhance cognitive abilities etc. This type of psychotherapy is based upon the assumption that with an art therapist, an engagement in life-enhancing creative processes and analyses of these processes and models will increase awareness and empathy with external reality and within one's self.
