Allergy Testing

Find a Therapist:

Allergy testing involves placing small amounts of allergens on the skin and observing the reaction. An allergy is a reaction of the immune system.

Normally, the immune system responds to foreign bodies, like dust or pollen, by producing specific proteins that bind to these foriegn bodies. This reaction is designed to prevent infection.

If this process is triggered by harmless everday substances the condition is known as an allergy.

Common inhaled allergens include pollen, dust, and insect parts from tiny house mites. Common food allergens include nuts, fish, and milk.

Is Your Food Making You Ill?

According to the British Allergy Foundation an astounding 45% of the UK population are affected by food intolerances which can be associated with chronic illness conditions.

Food intolerances can be hard to self-diagnose as symptoms may only appear up to 72 hours after eating the offending food. Diagnosis is further complicated by the fact that often four or five - sometimes more - foods are implicated; sometimes the reaction may be to combinations of food, rather than single sources.

Foods and Herbs that Increase Energy and Vitality

Are you tired of being tired? Has your get up and go got up and gone? When you make your bed in the morning, do you feel like getting back into it? Fatigue may have multiple causes, including nutritional deficiencies, chi and blood deficiencies, allergies (both food and environmental), poor elimination, lack of oxygen, stress, inadequate sleep, poor circulation, low thyroid function, and hypoglycaemia. Food Allergies and Intolerance

Food intolerance, also known as hypersensitivity, and in more serious cases, allergies, is a response triggered by the immune system.
