Aromatherapy :: Indian Head Massage :: Massage :: On Site Massage :: Reflexology :: Reiki :: Sports Injury :: Thai Yoga MassageMy philosophy is to promote positive touch to the 'masses' with humour, realism and joy!
With 10 years experience in bodywork my main focus is working on specific areas using a wide range of techniques that I have learned. I believe that we all have the responsibilty and the ability to heal ourselves and that I am a facilitator in this healing process. My aim is to find out exactly what you want from your treatment and for us to work together to achieve changes in both physical body and mental attitude. My work with you is tailored to your needs and this can be different every time depending on mood, what day you have had and so many differing factors! I take massage to your homes, festivals, companies, hospices, charity events, parties and really enjoy seeing people experience positive touch if even for 5 minutes on the 'on-site' massage chair. All my therapies are influenced by the 'No Hands' massage approach after having problems with repetitive strain injury through many years of bodywork. In my eyes this has saved any further problems and I continue doing what I love!
My special interest is pregnancy massage and I have attended 2 home births, incorporating movement and massage.
The Wellbeing Team
In conjunction with other tutors I also run massage and 'wellbeing' courses for a government scheme called 'Positive Activities for Young People' which teaches 11-17 year olds basic massage routines and concentrates on complementary health issues. We have had some terrific results from these courses.
I run baby massage courses and workhops and work with women throughout their pregnancies. It is a huge privilege to be involved with families at this time.
Please drop me an email or give me a ring to talk about your needs and here are some testimonials in the meantime...
'I always felt that Julie was a knight in shining armour – arriving just in time to massage away all the aches of the month. I was definitely a lot less stressed whilst having regular massages and felt more able to confront anything that life threw at me. I am only sorry that I am unable to have the regular fix anymore due to having moved away and haven’t found anyone else yet that remotely replaces her!'
'Julie has become a great friend over the course of massages and she has a very professional attitude. She is confident enough to give you the right level of massage pressure(unlike many others I have experienced) and her knowledge is second to none'
'I have had various massages to relieve back pain, stress and headaches after a car accident. My mobility and flexibility has improved and I think you’re great and come highly recommended!'
'Even though I had done baby massage before I wanted to be refreshed in the
techniques and motivated by having a teacher. I had time to look at

No Hands Massage
Massage without hands sounds like a contradiction in terms!
In this article Julie Bickerton describes this style which she says 'has flow, grace, movement, depth and total immersement, almost like a dance!'
