ART THERAPY (also known as art psychotherapy) is an effective treatment for many kinds of emotional distress, for instance: Depression, Anxiety, Stress, Eating disorders, Self-harm, Trauma, Abuse, Bereavement and loss, Psychosomatic symptoms, Work-related problems, Relationship difficulties. You don't have to have any particular ability, experience or skills in art, just a willingness to enter into the process. The art therapist is not concerned with artistic ability but is there to provide a safe and facilitating environment in which thoughts and feelings may be explored. ABOUT THE THERAPIST: I am experienced in working with a range of psychological difficulties and have completed additional specialist trainings in psychodynamic therapy, in group therapy and the M.A. in Advanced Clinical Practice in Art Psychotherapy. I am registered with the Health Professions Council and am a full member of the British Association of Art Therapists (with which I am an approved Private Practitioner and Clinical Supervisor). Confidentiality is observed at all times and practice is in line with HPC Standards. In addition to individual art therapy and psychotherapy, I can offer group therapy, experiential workshops and clinical supervision.
