I first encountered yoga as a child on the BBC series 'Yoga for Health'. In 1998 a friend introduced me to a lunchtime class in London, and I gradually became hooked. Six years later my tutors, Bob and Be Insley, suggested I applied for a place on the British Wheel of Yoga teacher training diploma course, which I completed in 2007.
I was always interested in combining yoga teaching with my therapeutic background. To this end, in 2011 I qualified as an Integrated Yoga Therapist, a qualification which combines yoga therapy, mindfulness and ayurvedic principles.
Yoga therapy is 'the process of empowering individuals to progress toward improved health and well being through the application of the philosophy and practice of Yoga.' (Cathy Mae Karelse)
I am now studying with Jonathan Monks, whose yogamonks method is focused on resolution of imbalances and personal transformation.
My general classes are varied and reflect these many influences, offering something for the complete beginner as well as for the more experienced student. My one to one and therapy sessions provide you with an agreed practice tailored to your needs. This practice will generally not be entirely physical, or even limited to yoga; but will aim at bringing increased health and happiness to your life as a whole.
Aromatherapy and Reflexology
These physical therapies are offered from my room in Rochester, Kent. They offer deep relaxation and can be tailored to your specific needs.
