She has a Diploma in Counselling and completed her MSc in Counselling Research at the University of Bristol. The anger and stress management service is provided by New Leaf established in 1992. This service offers individual counselling for men and women who have difficulty managing anger and or stress.Anger and stress management therapy offers you the opportunity to talk about your problems in a confidential environment. You can receive help and support to manage your anger and reduce stress in your life. New Leaf has extensive experience in working with young people especially with assessing the personal difficulties and problems faced by young people and their subsequent counselling needs. New Leaf has in the past been contract for delivering the youth counselling service for MIND Taunton and West Somerset (TWS). Becky has developed specific methods of working which have developed into a holistic model. She has presented her work at local and national conferences and meetings. Her work has coined the phrase New Leaf - New You.Therapy Description ( not to be confused with counselling)Anger therapy is used to help people who have a problem managing anger / stress in their lives. It involves working on an individual basis with a therapist exploring not just the problem but the unused potential of the individual. Different therapists use different models of working. The therapy may use various techniques like relaxation and stress management to help the individual with coping strategies.Anger therapy can improve self-esteem and self-confidence, which can lead to better personal and professional relationships. It can give you greater awareness of how to address your anger and the anger of others. It can give the individual an Increased ability to understand their feelings and how to express them appropriately.Anger therapy is most effect on those people who feel that they are ready to change for themselves and are prepared to work on their thoughts, feelings and behaviour. Please note there is no national definition of anger therapy this is written reflecting on the work of New Leaf and does not aim to represent the views of any other therapist.Becky delivers courses for professionals on how to work with your own anger and the anger shown by your clients. Becky Wright holds an MSc in Counselling Research, PGDip in Counselling awarded by the University of Bristol. She is MBACP Accred and UKCP registered. She is a fully qualified counsellor with a wide experience of helping people resolve difficulties. She also holds qualifications in Post Traumatic Stress Counselling and Solution Focussed Brief Therapy.Becky also recived a Winston Churchill Fellowship in 2004 to study domestic violence in America.In 2000 she won the Innovation in Training Awards and also became a finalist of the Women of Achievement in Education.
Becky Wright also works as a supervisor offering individual and group supervision to therapists and related professionals.
